Title Some questions
Dear Sir or Madam

My name is Tamotsu Nobusawa.
I am a college student in Japan.

This is not a complaint mail.
I'm just interested in the history about Motormax and Zyll.
I'm a die-cast toy car collector, so I have some of your products.
Recent Motormax cars are really nice job.
Especially I like 1/64th scale and 3" die-cast cars.

Motormax is subsidiary of RBI Holdings isn't it ?
Is "RBI" the initial of "Red Box International" ?

I heard Red Box International purchased Zyll Enterprise in '90s.
One says it's 1996, but another says around 1998.
When did the buy-off take place? And then, what happened to Zyll ?
Zyll changed its name to Motormax ? Or, there's no relation between Zyll and Motormax ?
Now, Motormax is producing die-cast cars which originaly Zyll was producing.
There's D series identified by the number on base plates in Motormax line. They were products of Zyll.
I want to know whether Zyll became Motormax or Zyll gave the dies to Motormax.
When did Motormax start up as a company ?

Sorry I asked so much.
But I'm interested in the relationship between Motormax and Zyll so much.

best regards,
Tamotsu

Title RE: Some questions
RBI Holdings Ltd is the parent company.
There is no Red Box International.
RBI Holdings bought the Zyll assets (not the name) in 1998.
Motormax was formed in 1999 to run the die cast business.

Motormax used the D series molds bought from Zyll in the first few years of operations.
But the original D series tools are mostly retired and Motormax built a lot of new molds.

Zyll is a bankrupt company, and not exist anymore.

 さらにRBIは何の略なのかと言うことと、KOOL TOYZについて返信メールを出してみました。しかしこちらは返事は返ってきませんでした。

Title Re: Some questions
Thank you very much Mr. M****** C*** for the information.

So, what initial of is RBI ?

I have KOOL TOYZ 42-Piece Car Set.
The vehicles are all D series die-cast cars.
The backside of the box says as follows

087 07 0286 068A2068-73
Distributed by
Dayton Hudson Corporation
Minneapolis, MN55402
C 1999 Dayton Hudson Brands, Inc.
All Rights Reserved
Made in China

This maybe a product made in 1999. ( Maybe I bought it in around 1999 but not certainly.)
I thought it was made by Motormax and sold by Dayton Hudson.
But there's punch marks of Zyll or Zee on baseplates of some vehicles. ( not all )

Did Motormax produce die-cast cars for Kool Toyz brand ?

Tamotsu Nobusawa
